Contra-indications to Indian Head Massage
 

Skin or scalp infections which include:

 

  • Herpes, itching blisters which weep and form a crust.

 

  • Impetigo.

 

  • Ringworm.

 

  • Scabies.

 

  • Recent head, neck or face surgery; may need GPs permission.

 

  • Intoxication.

 

  • Severe circulatory disorders/ heart condition; medical advice is advised.

 

  • Thrombosis.

 

  • High/ low blood pressure.

 

  • Epilepsy.

 

  • Diabetes, medical advice is required as clients with diabetes could be prone to arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure and oedema.

 

  • Cancer, medical advice is required.

 

  • Skin disorders e.g. eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis.

 

  • Recent scar tissue.

 

  • Severe bruising or open cuts.

 

  • Any undiagnosed lumps, bumps or swellings.
